Desperate to avoid conviction, she deceives the public, the media and Velma Kelly, by hiring Chicago’s slickest criminal lawyer, Billy Flynn (Mark Cameron), to transform her malicious crime into a barrage of sensational headlines, the likes of which might just as easily be ripped from today’s tabloids. Roxie & Velma ultimately joining forces in search of the "American Dream": fame, fortune, and acquittal. The sizzling tale of corruption and celebrity was inspired by true events and trials in Jazz Age Chicago.
